What We Do
Westchester Duct Testing is a residential duct leakage testing service operated by Marcy Engineering, PLLC, a licensed professional engineering firm (PLLC) based in Harrison, NY.
We test residential HVAC ductwork for air leakage per New York State energy code requirements and provide signed test reports to contractors for building department submission. We work exclusively with residential HVAC contractors.
We don't sell HVAC systems. We don't do energy audits. We don't do home inspections. We don't do blower door testing. We test ductwork.

Jake Stone, PE
Founder
Born and raised in Mamaroneck and based in Harrison, Jake has been an HVAC design engineer since 2011 and is president of Marcy Engineering, PLLC, an MEP engineering firm. Jake oversees the engineering standards and quality behind every test.

Charlie Garland
Operations Lead & Certified Technician
Charlie, a Rye, NY native, holds a mechanical engineering degree from Yale University and is BPI-certified in Infiltration & Duct Leakage, the credential behind every test WDT performs. Charlie personally handles day-to-day operations, testing, and scheduling.

Our duct leakage testing is performed by a technician certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) in Infiltration & Duct Leakage (IDL), the nationally recognized credential for airtightness and duct leakage measurement. BPI is ANSI-accredited.
Our parent company, Marcy Engineering, PLLC, is led by Jake Stone, a licensed Professional Engineer. PE-backed testing means building departments trust the report.
Why We Exist
The 2025 ECCCNYS (effective December 31, 2025) eliminated the conditioned-space exemption for duct testing and made duct leakage testing a near-universal requirement for new duct installations in Westchester County, including HVAC retrofits.
No dedicated duct testing company serves Westchester. Brooklyn-based testers spend two hours driving to Scarsdale for one job. Nobody offers fast, reliable scheduling. Nobody publishes pricing. Nobody hands you a signed report the same day.
We fix that. Based in Harrison, we can do 4–6 tests per day across Westchester. We show up when we say we will. You get the report the same day. If it fails, we identify the leaks and schedule the re-test for a separate day. That's the whole model.
